There are several places of interest less than an hour’s drive from the Pieve:
- Bolgheri, an ancient medieval village, famous for its breathtaking views and vineyards, can be reached by traveling along the suggestive straight road, approximately 5 kilometres, of Viale dei Cipressi, along which there are more than 2,000 centuries-old cypress trees.
Bolgheri is also famous for the fine wines produced in the area, including: Sassicaia by Tenuta San Guido, based on Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, the wines of Ornellaia and Masseto, Guado al Tasso, Le Macchiole, Grattamacco and Michele Satta.

The Pieve
La Pieve, located in the suggestive Val di Cecina, stands on the edge of the tiny village of Lustignano at an altitude of 900 metres. This architectural jewel enjoys a privileged hillside position at 390 meters above sea level, offering open panoramic views on all sides.
The complex, originally from the 13th century, includes the parish church itself and the adjoining Pilgrims’ Hospital. The recent renovation has skilfully preserved characteristic elements of the original construction: the exposed stone walls, the high floors with original wooden trusses and the exposed beams. The base of an ancient baptismal font, symbol and pride of the Pieve, has been highlighted through a glass flooring in the imposing hall, which once housed the church and now houses a long wooden table made from a single trunk and a particular circular fireplace suspended in corten.
The fine furnishings, the modern kitchen, the elegant rooms with modern private bathrooms, the gym and the wellness area with heated indoor pool and Turkish bath define the high level of this structure. The garden, an oasis of peace, offers enchanting landscapes from every angle, while the beautiful infinity pool completes the experience of a perfect stay.

Exclusive experience
The complex develops around the internal courtyard, the focal point of the parish church. The main entrance, located on the front facade, leads to the large living room, where a long wooden table and a suspended circular fireplace dominate the scene, surrounded by sofas. From here, some steps lead on one side to the internal courtyard and on the other to a second living area, where the kitchen, dining area and lounge merge into an open space with access to the garden (pool side/outdoor dining area).
The ground floor houses the master bedroom with king size bed and cast iron fireplace, served by an en suite bathroom with tub and shower. The services are completed by a bathroom with shower and sauna and a guest bathroom. A wooden staircase from the lounge leads to the first floor, where the TV room with study area is located (in a mezzanine area). A corridor then leads to the sleeping area, consisting of 4 double bedrooms, one of which is also accessible from an external staircase.
The rooms are served by a bathroom with bathtub and three bathrooms with shower (one of which is en suite). Two bedrooms and two bathrooms can be combined to create a family suite thanks to a door in the corridor that separates them from the others.
Accessible independently from the outside and from the courtyard, we find a well-equipped gym and a wellness area with heated swimming pool, hydromassage, Turkish bath and relaxation area. Finally, the laundry room is set up in an annex in front of the veranda.
Park and nature
The farmhouse, surrounded by a flat park, offers a panoramic view of an enchanting landscape, within an estate of over 30 hectares. This estate includes trekking and mountain biking trails immersed in the woods. In the garden, the vegetation is a feast of colors with rose and lavender bushes, mandarin plants, cherry trees, tall cypresses and numerous olive trees scattered along vast grassy lawns. The large paving that surrounds the swimming pool is ideal for moments of relaxation.
At the entrance to the property there is a large parking area. Around the farmhouse, there are several relaxation areas: a pergola, a gazebo surrounded by wisteria with table and chairs, and an area for outdoor dining near the swimming pool. The latter can be easily reached from the lounge doors and is equipped with a sink and a barbecue.
Among the services offered in the external areas there is also a heliport, a further guarantee of maximum accessibility for guests.
Swimming pool and relaxation
The splendid infinity pool which faces south is located in a private area of the garden, on a terrace located slightly lower. It is located about 20 meters from the farmhouse and can be reached via a flight of stairs or a walkway in the lawn. The rectangular pool, lined in sand-coloured PVC, measures 5 x 10 meters and has a constant depth of 1.20 metres.
The surrounding sunbathing area offers space for relaxation: on a large travertine surface there are shaded loungers and a gazebo equipped with a dining area, sink and barbecue for dining poolside.
The pool is sanitized with chlorine and can also be used at night thanks to the lighting both inside and outside the pool.
